When we reflect on the deed in the 20th century, there were various matter actually. There is no help for it if we regret the matter that passed. However, there is not progress if we do not reconsider. There is no help for it if we lament it about the future. However, future does not open it if we do not live now as hard as possible. I hope that everyone knows the heart of the earth, feels pain with the earth, feels joy with the earth and leaves wonderful nature and beautiful heart for the next generation in the 21st century. April to the December number in 2001 ANBOH-GAWA SENPIRO-NO-TAKI (March 21, 2001) |
There are two waterfalls called SENPIRO-NO-TAKI in YAKUSHIMA. One of them is the SENPIRO-NO-TAKI of the TAINOKOH (River) that is sightseeing sights, another one is the SENPIRO-NO-TAKI of the ANBOH-GAWA (River). The SENPIRO-NO-TAKI of the ANBOH-GAWA is in the place where a few of the forest railroad circuit came down from the ARAKAWA starting point of a mountain climb. This railroad is not such a sidewalk where the person walks. Yakushima Electrical Industry Inc. is using it for the control of hydro power plant. Therefore as for it tourists do not see SENPIRO-NO-TAKI of the ANBOH-GAWA. You will understand to see this photograph, there is no water in this waterfall now. The reason is the water of this waterfall has already spent it to hydro power plant with upstream. There is a big dam in the ARAKAWA (River) that is tributary of the ANBOH-GAWA. The name is ARAKAWA (ODATE) dam. The dam makes the electricity of a total output 56,500 kilowatts in the condition of full water. After electricity is supplied to a resident, the Yakushima Electrical Industry burns silica and coke with an electric furnace, and be making the thing called carbonization silicon (SiC). This is the hardness after a diamond. This is used as a grinding powder and also be used as a fireproof material. When we build a dam, the river is severed and the way of the fish is shut. Also water of the river has almost been spent on hydro power plant. Therefore a river dries up and fishes are not lived. At present, the electricity is necessary to our life, however, we must know that nature is being destroyed largely for that. I hope that everyone is doing energy conservation life. |
